3rd Manazashi Photo Exchange Section "Manazashi" Award
I love watching her do her hair.
"It gets in the way when I play the piano," my wife says as she starts tying our daughter's hair up.
Meanwhile, my daughter suddenly stares at the artificial flowers on top of the piano.
This bouquet was handmade by my wife's mother and was used at our wedding.
A photo taken casually.
The gazes of three generations were captured on film.

Comment from Advisor

The gazes of the photographer and the family members who are the subjects intersect, and the whole is enveloped in a gentle light. The black and white version makes the light even more apparent, and the tones of light are beautiful, making this a very impressive photograph. The gaze is almost an unconscious awareness of the direction it is aimed at, and I sense a strong sense of awareness in capturing that gaze, so I think this photograph conveys the consciousness of each individual. I thought it was a moving photograph, with both the unconscious gaze and the strong-willed gaze.
