Special Selection: "Nice to meet you, we finally met."

Specially Selected Winner of Manazashi Photo Club Photo Contest
It's been a long time since the whole family gathered together.
It was my grandmother's funeral.

My beloved grandmother's blood flows through my veins
Our children.

The drooping corners of the eyes are visible even through the mask.
Cheerful voices welcoming the birth.

Under a cloudless, sunny sky,
Black color gathers to pray for the deceased.
She talks about her grandmother's memories,
This and that about each family.

I felt the gentlest flow of time in the world.
A photo from such a day.

The only one looking towards us is the baby in white clothes in the center, while the other relatives are wearing black clothes and not facing us. The contrast is stunning, and it is precisely because of this that we can see that the gazes of the people around are directed at the baby, or at least I think this photo expresses that gaze well. This contrast allows us to feel the gentle atmosphere around the baby, and from the way people peer at the baby and the way his cheeks are slightly raised, we can feel the warmth of their gazes even from behind.
