Special Selection "Welcome Home"

Manazashi Photo Club First Period Photo Contest "Manazashi" Grand Prize
On a day when my dad was working on a holiday, we decided to go to the park in the afternoon.

"It was fun, it's getting dark."
I said that as I headed home, and when I got out of the car, I heard my daughter calling from her grandmother's house across the street.

"Hey!! Welcome back! We've been waiting for you!"
My beloved cousin's older sister waved back at me.
"Welcome home! Dinner will be ready soon!" said grandma.

"Um! I'm back! I'm on my way!"
My daughter answered with an equally loud voice and smile.
Illuminated by the setting sun, her expression sparkled as she looked at her beloved family.

I took a lot of photos in the park that day.
We have many photos that show their happy smiles, sparkling eyes, and the bond between sisters.

but.
The "best of gaze" that I have come to realize is "a gentle expression and atmosphere of caring for someone." A photo that makes you see the important person in front of the gaze.
This was best expressed by the look of relief and excitement on the face of this little girl after her beloved family said, "Welcome home."

When you look at this photo,
The sunset was beautiful,
The September wind has gotten a little cold,
The faint smell of miso soup wafting from the main house,
There are also small joys in having a family and a place to return to.
I remember the warm and lovely atmosphere of that time.

Comment from Advisor

This photo is very impressive, with the daughter's gaze directed at the important person in front of her. It's as if you can sense the daughter's emotions and hopes from that gaze. It makes the viewer feel warm and refreshed. I think this photo conveys the emotions of the photographer, and I imagine Emiko was feeling the same way.
