Special Selection "Father"

How long has it been since the coronavirus pandemic made it difficult for people to simply return to their parents' homes?
The look in his eyes reminded me of my father.
My father has a disease that narrows his field of vision and he can barely see. He now has pinhole vision.

When I was little, it was my father's job to take pictures and videos of my school sports days and club activities. I was not grateful to him and my rebellious phase came late, so there were times when I didn't talk to him.

After getting married and giving birth to a daughter and son, I feel like I've finally been able to truly face it.
I wasn't a good daughter, and I was probably the one who caused the most stress. But my taciturn and bad at talking father always kept an eye on me.

This photo was taken one New Year's holiday when I went back to my parents' house and really wanted to take a picture of them, but I was too embarrassed to say it formally, so just before I left, even before getting in the car, I said, "I want to take a picture of the two of you," and took the photo.
"Why do you want to take pictures of dads? I don't know where to look," he grumbled, but when I held up the camera he looked straight at the camera, looking embarrassed, and at me.

The day when it will no longer be visible will be approaching soon.
Thank you for always looking at me with such gentle eyes.
I have left behind a lot of images of my children, just like my dad left behind me.
I may be a grandfather now, but I will always be your daughter.

You can see the embarrassment in both of them, and you can tell they were laughing while taking the picture, so it's a wonderful photo filled with the feelings of two people who are similar to each other. The look that the father directed at the camera was undoubtedly directed at the photographer, hiraco. I'm glad you were able to capture this look. Thank you for this heartwarming photo.
