September's theme: "Sway"

"Swaying Smile☺"

Lots of U
When I showed it to my second son, he said, "It looks like Nico-chan's mouth!"
Looking at it that way,
I'm starting to feel happy☺︎

The theme for September was "Swaying." We chose this theme because we wanted to see photos that expressed the feeling of swaying, such as the start of a new semester or the change of seasons. Club members sent in lots of photos, including images of children's emotions, the photographer's emotions, children having fun swaying on playground equipment, and images that give a sense of wind and movement. It was fun to see how the word "swaying" can be expressed in so many different ways. From those, this was the photo I chose.
The "swaying" is soft and beautiful. I thought it was a fantastical, dreamlike expression. It also feels like someone is reluctantly enjoying the shortened evenings at the end of summer. The child bounces happily in time with the swaying in a dream world. The trails of light around him look like smiles and are joyful. Both the swaying child and the trails of light that result from the swaying show us a world that cannot be seen with the eyes through the camera, and I thought it was a wonderful way to express the unreality in everyday life.
